Virtual Roundtable: Employer Initiatives to Address Social Determinants of Health through Benefit Design

The COVID-19 epidemic underscores the importance of addressing social determinants of health. The Coalition released a white paper earlier this summer on addressing social needs through benefit design; we plan to build on this conversation through employer-based benefits and programs.

The employer community, through which 180 million Americans receive health coverage, are a vital part of connecting benefit design and social determinants. During this roundtable discussion, Coalition members and experts shared their experiences working with employers to improve employee population health through benefit design and other initiatives.
